In a landmark move, NVIDIA has joined forces with HUMAIN, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, to establish AI factories. The goal is to advance Saudi Vision 2030’s objectives of economic diversification and enhanced digital infrastructure.
The strategic collaboration was announced in the backdrop of a $600 billion economic agreement between Saudi Arabia and the United States. Jensen Huang, NVIDIA’s CEO, emphasized the importance of AI as a vital infrastructure comparable to electricity and the internet. He stated:
“AI, like electricity and internet, is essential infrastructure for every nation. Together with HUMAIN, we are building AI infrastructure for the people and companies of Saudi Arabia to realize the bold vision of the kingdom.”
Tareq Amin, CEO of HUMAIN, highlighted their ambition to build a globally enabled AI community.
The partnership is poised to create significant economic opportunities, potentially reshaping industries such as manufacturing, logistics, and energy in the region. Saudi Arabia aims to leverage its energy resources for AI innovation, setting the stage for transformative economic shifts.
By investing in AI infrastructure, the kingdom aims to enhance its economic growth while reducing oil dependency. The project aligns with Saudi Arabia’s strategic goals, positioning it as a pivotal player in the global AI landscape.
The initiative is expected to yield technological advancements and regulatory challenges but offers potential growth in the AI industry. The development of digital twins could revolutionize sectors such as energy and logistics, positioning the Kingdom as a leading AI innovator on the world stage.
