Hashdex’s New Crypto ETF Offers 100% of Initial Staking Yields

Hashdex has outlined a staking-based yield structure for a new crypto ETF, with the offer passing 100% of initial staking yields and 40% of additional yields to investors, according to the terms described in a regulatory filing.

The yield split is set out in a Hashdex 8-K filing submitted to the SEC. The structure separates staking rewards into two tiers: an initial band, which is passed through in full, and an additional band, of which a smaller share reaches the fund. For related coverage, see SEC Approves Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs from Hashdex and Franklin Templeton.

The mechanics tie the product directly to on-chain staking, a feature that distinguishes it from crypto ETFs built around spot price exposure alone. Hashdex describes its approach to earning rewards through validation on its staking page. How the two-tier yield split works

The distinction between initial and additional yields is the most specific element in the announcement. The full pass-through on the first tier gives investors direct exposure to base staking rewards, while the reduced share on the second tier reflects a graduated arrangement rather than a flat rate.

Staking-linked yield remains an uncommon feature in exchange-traded crypto products, which historically packaged price exposure without distributing network rewards. Yield-bearing designs have gained attention as issuers experiment with passing validation income to shareholders, as seen with Bitwise’s Solana ETF and its staking strategy.

Why the launch fits the current cycle

The product combines familiar ETF packaging with staking-yield messaging, a pairing that speaks directly to readers tracking regulated crypto investment vehicles. Hashdex has steadily broadened its lineup, including moves to expand its crypto ETF to cover SOL, ADA and XRP.

The issuer’s products have repeatedly passed through the U.S. regulatory pipeline, from earlier approvals of its Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs alongside Franklin Templeton to prior instances where the SEC delayed several Hashdex proposals. That history frames the current filing as another step in the firm’s staking-focused strategy.

Further product specifics, including fee structures and launch timing, are expected to become clearer as additional filings emerge. The yield split described here reflects the terms presented in the current announcement.
