aelf restored public full-node access and several core services after an emergency shutdown, according to its September 14, 2026 recovery update, but exchange deposits and withdrawals are resuming gradually and availability differs by venue. ELF traded at $0.066365, down 7.65% on the day.
TLDR KEYPOINTS
- aelf restored public nodes for the AELF MainChain and tDVV dAppChain.
- Core services were restored after an emergency shutdown.
- Exchange access varies by venue.
aelf restores public nodes and core services after emergency shutdown
Public full-node access for the AELF MainChain and tDVV dAppChain is available again, per aelf’s September 14 recovery update. The project said aelfscan, FairyVault transfers, Awaken trading, Forest NFT browsing and the TMRW DAO staking interface are reachable again. For related coverage, see Grove Basin: Instant Stablecoin Liquidity for Tokenized Treasuries.
Public nodes and core services restored
aelf noted that its recovery run did not execute transactions inside those services, meaning reachability is not the same as end-to-end confirmation. CryptoSlate separately reported that both chain-status endpoints showed advancing block heights on September 15, while stating its checks did not submit a transaction or execute a transfer, trade or reward claim. For related coverage, see Bitcoin Falls to $75,000 as Senate Blocks CLARITY Act Advance.
Block production stopped for approximately one week, during which no network staking rewards were generated for any staking participants, aelf said.

What remains unspecified about the shutdown
The community was notified of malicious smart-contract activity affecting AELF and tDVV on August 18, followed by a controlled recovery, according to aelf’s August 26 incident update. As of that date, aelf had identified 155 transactions associated with malicious activity: 127 on AELF and 28 on tDVV, and had analysed five unique .NET payload assemblies. These are project-reported findings, not independently audited counts.
aelf said its assessed evidence had not identified unauthorized ordinary-user asset transfers or wallet-key exposure, while explicitly excluding unresolved node and infrastructure credential exposure from that conclusion. Wallet keys stored or used on block-producer or operations hosts were treated as operator credentials subject to rotation.
The recovery announcement does not declare a final security all-clear. A full post-incident review and technical appendix will follow completion of investigation, recovery validation, credential remediation, permanent fixes and independent review. Any claim that the investigation and all remediation are complete is unsupported by the announcement.
Exchange access varies by venue after aelf service restoration
aelf said exchange deposits and withdrawals are resuming gradually and availability may differ by venue, urging users to check official exchange notices and whether the service is enabled. That caveat is central: restored public nodes do not guarantee uniform access across trading venues.
Venue-specific access remains a separate question
Restored chain infrastructure and core services operate independently of any single exchange’s transfer status. MEXC scheduled ELF deposits and withdrawals to resume on September 5 at 07:00 UTC after a deposit-address update, instructing users to generate a new deposit address because previous addresses are no longer valid.
Bithumb scheduled ELF transfers to resume on September 14 at 14:00 KST, and said deposits made during the suspension would be credited sequentially after resumption. Bithumb also stated that trading remained available during its transfer suspension, so the pause concerned deposits and withdrawals rather than all exchange activity.
According to unconfirmed reports, a dated September 2 notice cited by CryptoSlate indicated INDODAX ELF transfers remained closed; that original notice was not independently fetched and later account availability is unverified. As with the operational disruptions seen when CoinEx moved to shut down its platform, venue-level status can diverge sharply from network-level recovery.
What to verify before using an exchange for aelf
Check the intended function and latest venue notice
Trading, deposits and withdrawals are separate functions, and a venue can enable one while restricting another. Confirm the specific function you intend to use through the exchange’s own current interface rather than assuming a blanket reopening.
Check notice timestamps rather than treating the restoration headline as a live status guarantee. Broad market sentiment sat at 69, or “Greed,” on the Fear & Greed Index, though that gauge measures the wider crypto market and not aelf-specific reaction. ELF’s market capitalization stood near $54.85 million on roughly $1.03 million in 24-hour volume.
For readers tracking how transfer availability moves alongside price, monitor whether additional venues publish reopening notices over the next 24 to 72 hours and whether aelf releases its promised post-incident review. Related coverage of smart-contract exploits such as the DeFi bridge incident underscores why users watch credential remediation closely, while exchange-side integrations like Gate’s Arc rollout show how venue operations can shift independently of any single token’s network status.
