Bitmine Acquires 9,926 Ethereum, Lifting Total Holdings to 5.8M ETH

Bitmine Immersion Technologies has acquired 9,926 Ethereum, lifting its total ETH treasury to roughly 5.8 million tokens and cementing its position as one of the largest corporate holders of the asset.

The company disclosed that its holdings reached 5.82 million ETH alongside total crypto and cash of $11.4 billion following the latest purchase. The addition of 9,926 ETH continues an accumulation pattern that has made Ethereum the centerpiece of the firm’s balance sheet. The purchase and updated totals were also reported by The Block, which noted the treasury now sits near the $11 billion mark.

Why the 5.8 million ETH total matters more than the buy

A single acquisition of under 10,000 ETH is modest against a treasury measured in the millions of tokens. The more significant figure is the cumulative 5.8 million ETH, which defines the scale of Bitmine’s exposure to Ethereum as a reserve asset.

Holding Ethereum on the balance sheet ties the company’s book value directly to ETH price movements. The latest buy reinforces an accumulation strategy rather than marking a departure from it, adding incrementally to a position already among the largest held by any public company.

That strategy has drawn outside capital. Norway’s sovereign wealth fund disclosed an $82 million stake in BitMine, a signal of institutional interest in the company’s Ethereum-heavy structure. BitMine has also said it derives the vast majority of its revenue from staking, linking its operations closely to the ETH it holds.

What it signals for Ethereum market watchers

Large corporate treasury moves in Ethereum tend to attract investor attention, and a holdings total near 5.8 million tokens gives market watchers a concrete data point on the scale of institutional accumulation.

Corporate demand sits alongside broader institutional flows into the asset. Ethereum exchange-traded funds have seen strong uptake, with ETF inflows reaching $365 million and outpacing Bitcoin in a recent stretch, and Wall Street has begun converting staking rewards into ETF cash distributions.

Any direct market impact from Bitmine’s purchase would need further confirmation, as the disclosed figures speak to the company’s position rather than to price effects across the wider ETH market.
