- Coinbase introduces DEX trading within its main app.
- U.S. users, excluding New York State, can access this feature.
- Aerodrome Finance experiences a substantial liquidity increase.
Coinbase has integrated decentralized exchange (DEX) trading into its primary app for U.S. users, excluding New York, utilizing 0x and 1inch to access platforms like Uniswap and Aerodrome, announced Max Branzburg.
This integration signifies a strategic pivot, enhancing Coinbase’s utility as a comprehensive crypto service, and has already increased liquidity and trading activities on supported exchanges like Aerodrome.
Coinbase has launched DEX trading within its app, allowing users to trade on-chain through protocols like 0x and 1inch. This feature currently targets U.S. customers, excluding New York State, and starts with Base-native tokens.
Managed by Coinbase’s VP of Product, Max Branzburg, the integration lets users access Uniswap, Aerodrome, and more without moving funds off-platform. The initial focus is on Base tokens, with future plans for Solana and other networks.
This DEX integration enhances access to liquidity pools impacting crypto liquidity and market participation. Aerodrome Finance, a Base-leveraged DEX, has seen a noticeable market share and liquidity increase following the integration.
Financially, Coinbase aims to strengthen its position as an all-encompassing crypto finance app. There’s no mention of direct funding, but this move enhances liquidity access and widens the platform’s service portfolio.
Base-native tokens eagerly anticipated better distribution post-integration, benefiting from the immediate reach to Coinbase’s user base. This approach poses questions about other exchanges adopting similar integrations to stay competitive.
The integration signifies potential regulatory and technological advancements in crypto exchange. While specific U.S. regulatory feedback is pending, the expanded token availability highlights the industry’s trend towards more decentralized solutions. Max Branzburg, Vice President of Product, Coinbase, stated, “The integration allows users to retain their funds on the Coinbase platform while accessing decentralized liquidity” – Ainvest. Bold innovates the world.
