Continuing the streak of “suing back and forth, suing each other” amongst the Gemini, Genesis and DCG trio. Today, Genesis filed a lawsuit towards Gemini to reclaim the $689 million it withdrew from the exchange prior to the bankruptcy.

Bankrupt lending company Genesis is suing the Gemini Trust exchange to recover extra than $689 million, in accordance to court paperwork dated Nov. 22, 2023.

Gemini is a former business enterprise companion of Genesis and collectively with mother or father enterprise DCG has designed a trio of “legal dramas” from late 2022 to the current.

Due to the effect of FTX and the prolonged crypto winter that lowered trading action, Genesis filed for bankruptcy in January 2023. Then in July Gemini sued DCG and Barry Silbert for non-transparent actions.

In September, Genesis sued mother or father enterprise DCG, searching for payment of $600 million in Bitcoin it owed. In October, Gemini sued Genesis, searching for recovery of $one.six billion in GBTC stock.

Today, Genesis sued Gemini, accusing the exchange of profiteering from the transfer of “a total amount of no less than $689 million” throughout Geneis’ pre-bankruptcy time period. This figure is for that reason even greater than the $282 million previously reported by the media.

The Gemini side has not nevertheless responded to this lawsuit.

Meanwhile, this drama trio is staying sued by the New York government on October 19, 2023.
