What the duty editor does

• Monitors every published article and its QC result, around the clock.
• Follows up on articles the QC system flags, and corrects or withdraws them.
• Can pause publishing across the site when something is wrong.
• Handles reader reports of errors under the Corrections Policy.

The automated checks on each article are performed by our AI review system, not by Marcus personally; the duty editor’s role is oversight, correction and withdrawal.
