POPCAT rose to $2.10 in mid-November, marking a new all-time high. However, since then, the meme coin has not maintained its good form, falling 64% and currently trading at $0.74.
Returning to the top and continuing to grow is difficult in the short term. Still, the altcoin could recover and grow if it can maintain the $1.00 support level.

Meme Coin Ethereum
Ethereum is the largest gathering of Meme Coins and is the leader with Dogecoin and Shiba Inu. However, this on-chain breakthrough token is SPX6900 (SPX), which has grown 9,362% this year.
Altcoins have caught the trend and attracted the attention of Meme Coin enthusiasts. This makes it one of the 15 largest Meme Coins in the world, with a market capitalization of $748 million.
SPX is currently trading at $0.80 at the time of writing but has been stuck below the $0.91 resistance level for the past two months. Although the general market has recorded growth, the short-term outlook for this Meme Coin is quite bleak.
Surpassing $0.91 is crucial for SPX to return to its all-time high of $1.19, nearly 50% higher than the current price. The key support level for this Meme Coin is at $0.56, keeping the altcoin from floating for too long recently.
Losing this level of support could wipe out positivity and lead to large losses for investors. This could lead to increased selling as SPX holders will choose to hedge their profits.
Ethereum will continue to dominate this space thanks to the prestige and precedent set by older Meme Coins. However, it could face stiffer competition from Solana as the chain is much cheaper.
Base Chain
Meme Coins on the Base chain platform do not see strong development like the Ethereum and Solana platforms. However, one Meme Coin that stands out is Brett (BRETT), which has grown an unprecedented 12,800% in the past 12 months.
Currently trading at $0.125, BRETT is well off its ATH of $0.236 set this month. This meme coin depends on optimistic market signals to return to its peak.
This altcoin is holding above 0.100 USD, which is an important support level for BRETT, and the possibility of losing it is not high. However, a sharp sell-off from investors could result in a drop below $0.100, which could undermine investor confidence.
With the dominance of Ethereum and the superiority of Solana, Base Chain may be at a disadvantage in dominating the field. However, it will be interesting to see how much Base memes grow in 2025.
