Additionally, the Securities and Exchange Commission has also charged Justin Sun with TRX wash trading, i.e. conducting obtain and promote bids for TRX on the secondary market place to produce a false impression that this coin is in demand. The amount of wash trading operations stated by the SEC in the lawsuit is additional than 600,000, with each day trading volumes ranging from four.five million to seven.four million TRX.

The SEC also accused eight celebrities of marketing TRX, such as actor Lindsay Lohan, youtuber Jake Paul, rapper Soulja Boy, singer Austin Mahone, and so forth.

SEC Chairman Gary Gensler mentioned:

“Sun and its providers not only target U.S. traders in disguised stock offerings, raising hundreds of thousands of bucks in investor dollars, but also carry out wash trading operations on proprietary trading platforms licensed to give a false impression of demand for TRX extension. Sun also lures traders into TRX by celebrity promotions, with no disclosing the reality that they are becoming paid for individuals posts.

It is unclear how the SEC will prosecute Justin Sun simply because this character is an ambassador to the International Trade Organization (WTO) for Grenada and enjoys legal immunity.

The US Justice Department, SEC, and state monetary authorities have constantly filed lawsuits in excess of the previous three months towards persons and organizations concerned in important cryptocurrency market place crashes in 2022, with the argument that “security” is applied regularly, such as:

In addition, SEC Chairman Gary Gensler lately repeatedly issued statements saying that pretty much all cryptocurrencies are a protection, with the exception of Bitcoin, and urged crypto providers to indicator up and register as quickly as achievable.

The price tag of TRX token fell 13% soon after the information that Justin Sun was sued by the SEC.
