The proposal comes as the newly established Department of Government Effectiveness (DOGE) is said to be considering implementing a blockchain-based election system.

Kusama Explains Why Trump Should Hire a Blockchain Advisor

On November 15, Kusama expressed concerns about the rumored blockchain election platform being considered by Trump’s team. The system is called “eVote,” is said to feature partnerships with famous blockchain platforms like Cardano, Hyperledger, Hedera, and X (formerly Twitter). It aims to create a nationwide electronic voting and identity authentication solution.

The eVote initiative seeks to combat election fraud by requiring it to be applied across all US states. Analysts believe this is consistent with Trump’s longstanding emphasis on ensuring election integrity, especially after controversies over past elections.

Although the idea has attracted attention, Kusama emphasized that its success depends on the integration of Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE). This advanced encryption ensures voter data is secure both on the blockchain and from external threats.

Kusama warns that without FHE, sensitive voter information, such as identity and preferences, could be exposed to decryption efforts by malicious actors. This vulnerability could lead to widespread disruption. He emphasized that encryption must be strong enough to withstand threats from quantum computers, ensuring security both on and off-chain.

“Without FHE, this concept fails. Here’s why. Ballots need to be protected, not just on-chain… encrypted so they cannot be broken by quantum computers. Otherwise, bad countries will decrypt votes and make public wallets & who voted for. Chaos will ensue,” Kusama said explain.

For this reason, Shiba Inu developer has called on Trump to appoint a dedicated blockchain advisor to face these challenges. Such an appointment could bridge the gap between technology and public policy.

Notably, industry leaders such as Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson have expressed interest in collaborating with government policymakers to develop regulatory clarity and promote innovation. new blockchain.

If Trump follows through, the move would be in line with his growing engagement with crypto-focused figures. He recently appointed crypto advocates Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to lead DOGE and nominated Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz, a Bitcoin advocate, to be Attorney General. Additionally, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., known for his pro-Bitcoin stance, will become Secretary of Health and Human Services.
