Hackers proceed to run wild in a desolate industry. This time, the target of the attackers was the money from the NFT fundraising auction organized by actor Bill Murray.
Bill Murray is an American actor and screenwriter. He is a single of the initial celebrities to enter the NFT industry, along with Eminem, Snoop Dogg and Cristiano Ronald.
Recently, the NFT assortment named “Bill Murray 1000” was opened for sale on Coinbase’s NFT industry platform. Intended for fundraising for charity, as nicely as the actor’s recognition, the assortment immediately offered out, raising a complete of 119.two ETH.

However, the income from the fundraiser was not sent to the Chive Charities fund for the households of American veterans ahead of it was stolen by hackers. Specifically, a handful of hrs following the NFT auction opened, hackers broke into Bill Murray’s wallet and stole all the cryptocurrencies it contained.
However, the great information is that the NFTs in the wallet did not finish up in the attacker’s hands. The protection staff behind Bill Murray immediately moved the actor’s NFT to an additional wallet as quickly as they observed the wallet had been hacked. Bill Murray is recognized to personal two CryptoPunk, one Pudgy Penguin, one Cool Cat and numerous other important NFTs.
Bill Murray’s staff claimed to have reported the incident to the police and to operate with Chainalysis industry experts to locate the culprit.
Additionally, the runner-up in the NFT auction manufactured a wonderful gesture by donating 120 ETH (well worth roughly $ 187,500) to the Chive Charities fund on behalf of Bill Murray.
Either way, this is a unusual hack with a delighted ending, as NFT hacks value far more than $ 80 million in 2022.
