Solana Seeker Smartphone Was Introduced
At its launch during the Token2049 conference, the Solana Seeker smartphone saw incredible interest, with over 140,000 pre-orders already received from 57 countries.
Solana Seeker smartphone reportedly brings in hardware improvements in a big way over Saga. According to Emmet Hollyer, who heads the phone project at Solana Labs, Seeker will feature an improved battery, a much better camera, and even a lighter-weight design. This particular hardware will also bring features targeted toward cryptocurrency use, such as an in-built crypto wallet with better, partitioned Seed Vault key storage to enable easier and smoother transactions.
The most prominent feature of Seeker is the Seed Vault Wallet in cooperation with Solflare. It is a mobile-first crypto wallet built to safely and more easily onboard web3 experiences, making smooth transactions possible, among other things, with better account management.
Other unique selling points include the Solana dApp Store 2.0, which will improve discoverability for applications on the platform in key industries: DeFi, NFTs, and gaming. In addition, the ultra-rare NFT Seeker Genesis Token is able to unlock a lot of exclusive rewards and content within the Solana ecosystem.
Seeker Pre-Sale Offers Early Access at Discounted Price
Solana Seeker smartphone is currently available for pre-sale at an “Early Founder” price of $450, which it will stay at until September 21, when it moves back to $500.
The new smartphone is the next in line from the Saga, the very first attempt at crypto smartphones by Solana. Off to a rocky start, Saga initially suffered from poor sales and some technical issues. Later, it started to gain momentum when an airdrop of BONK tokens to users of Saga gave the phone a surprising turn of events. The sudden interest in Saga units was sold out by December 2023.
Solana Mobile wants to seek to carry on the momentum triggered by Saga deep inside mobile crypto solutions.
