XRP got a fresh Solana adoption boost on Friday as wXRP went live on the network, giving the token a new DeFi entry point just as market momentum began to improve.
Solana’s official account said XRP is now live on Solana, turning a long-signaled wrapped-asset rollout into an active cross-chain listing rather than a roadmap item.

Wrapped XRP now has a bigger DeFi lane
Hex Trust said in a December 2025 announcement that wXRP is 1:1-backed, was designed to launch with $100 million in TVL, and would let XRP trade alongside RLUSD on supported chains.
On Hex Trust’s live wXRP page, the issuer says every token is fully collateralized by XRP held in regulated custody, points users to proof-of-reserves, and limits minting and redemption to verified institutional participants under KYC/AML standards. That compliance framing matters because no new public regulatory filing accompanied Friday’s Solana go-live post.
Solana also offers a much larger venue for the rollout than a niche bridge experiment. The network sits near $13.45 billion in total value locked, which gives wXRP access to one of crypto’s deepest DeFi liquidity pools and fits the cautious but opportunity-seeking tone seen in Bits Recap April 17.
ON-CHAIN DATA
- wXRP design: 1:1 collateralized XRP
- Solana venue: $13.45B TVL
- XRP spot tape: $1.48 and +1.89% in 24 hours
XRP price momentum gets a new utility narrative
XRP traded at $1.48, up 1.89% over 24 hours, with $91.28 billion in market cap and $4.38 billion in 24-hour volume. That move extends the recovery theme already discussed in Coinlive’s recent XRP momentum coverage.
The adoption story matters to traders because fresh utility can reinforce a tape that is already moving, even if it does not guarantee follow-through. With $13.45 billion in Solana TVL and XRP back at $1.48, the market now has a measurable path to test whether wrapped-asset access can turn into real borrowing, trading, and collateral demand.
What traders should watch after the go-live
The next signals are practical, not promotional: whether wXRP liquidity shows up in Solana pools, whether XRP-RLUSD trading pairs gain traction, and whether custody-gated minting expands beyond the first institutional users described by Hex Trust. Broader risk appetite still matters too, especially in a market that recently saw a fast liquidation wave after a U.S. jobs report shock.
If those adoption markers build while XRP holds around $1.48, Solana’s rollout could deepen the token’s relevance beyond a one-day headline. If they do not, the launch will still stand as a utility expansion, but not yet proof of sustained demand.
