Aave V4 Arc Market Draws $76M USDC, Borrowing Stays Under $100K

Aave V4’s Arc market has accumulated over $76 million in USDC liquidity while outstanding borrowing sits below $100,000, exposing a near-total supply-demand imbalance on the newly launched permissioned lending venue.

Arc Core V4 Draws Heavy USDC Deposits as Supply Surges

The Arc Core V4 market launched with USDC as its primary asset, a choice grounded in Arc’s network architecture: Aave Labs’ September 15, 2026 technical assessment confirmed that USDC is Arc’s native gas currency on chain ID 5042, issued and controlled by Circle with privileged freeze, pause, and minting roles. Circle and the Arc community identified USDC, EURC, and cirBTC as the market’s initial launch assets.

Live data from Aavescan’s Arc Core V4 dashboard shows $126.6 million total supplied across the market at the time of the research fetch, with the USDC reserve alone accounting for $124.8 million of that figure. The remaining balance, $1.58 million in EURC, underscores how concentrated the deposit base is around Circle’s dollar stablecoin. This mirrors a pattern Aave has navigated before: large stablecoin inflows preceding meaningful borrow demand, as seen when Aave V4 governance began addressing liquidity risk parameters ahead of broader adoption. Borrowing Below $100,000 Points to Near-Zero Utilization

Against $126.6 million supplied, total borrowing on Arc Core V4 stood at just $89,900, a figure independently confirmed by DeFiLlama’s protocol API, which returned an Arc borrowed value of $89,884. The USDC reserve contributed $73,400 of that borrow total, with EURC accounting for $16,100.

Effective utilization across the market is below 0.1%, meaning more than 99.9% of supplied capital sits idle. That gap is wider than the $76 million USDC figure cited in earlier reports, which according to unconfirmed reports represented an earlier snapshot before supply climbed further. The borrow-side figure has remained anchored below $100,000 throughout.

The permissioned structure of Arc, which requires participants to meet Circle’s compliance criteria, constrains the addressable borrower pool relative to Aave’s open markets. Aave’s broader protocol has shown it can absorb significant stress events, including the $195 million bad-debt episode tied to the KelpDAO bridge exploit, but Arc’s design trades open access for regulatory alignment. AAVE traded at $128.57 at the time of the research fetch, up 8.2% over 24 hours, with a market cap of approximately $1.98 billion.

What to Watch on Arc’s Path to Utilization

The key metric to track is whether borrow demand grows to match the deposit base. A market carrying over $126 million in supply but under $100,000 in borrows generates negligible yield for depositors, which may eventually push liquidity elsewhere if utilization does not improve.

Monitoring points include: the pace of new borrower onboarding through Circle’s compliance process, whether cirBTC supply is added to the market as originally planned, and any governance adjustments to borrow rate parameters that could make Arc more competitive. Aave has previously explored expanding collateral options in V4, including a proposal for Bitcoin-backed loans via Anchorage, signaling ongoing effort to grow the borrower side of its newer deployments.

Updated on-chain figures from Aavescan remain the most direct indicator of whether the supply-demand gap is narrowing.
