Lido DAO claimed that LayerZero unilaterally announced the implementation of the wstETH bridge devoid of going by means of protocol censorship.
In an October 26 statement, liquid staking protocol Lido Finance warned about LayerZero’s wstETH (LDI wrapped ETH) bridge on the Avalanche, BNB, and Scroll networks.
As a consequence, Lido claimed that this wstETH bridge was not censored and authenticated by the protocol. Therefore, consumers really should “exercise extreme caution when interacting with the bridge.”
A bridge has been implemented to carry wstETH to Avalanche, BNB and Scroll, facilitated by @LayerZero_Labs.
Please note that this bridge is not canonical and has not been verified or accepted by the Lido DAO.
Please use severe caution if you pick to interact with the bridge.

Previously, on October 25, cross-chain LayerZero announced the profitable launch of wstETH in the type of OFT (multi-chain token), permitting consumers to move wsrETH back and forth among the Avalanche, BNB, and Scroll networks.

LayerZero’s unilateral action has sparked concern in the Lido neighborhood, with some suspecting it is an try to stress the staking protocol to observe suit, when other people say it is aspect of the system. Layer Zero advertising collaborates with Avalanche and BNB.
However, it is significant to mention the possible chance that devoid of censorship wstETH could be attacked.
Hasu, strategic advisor to the Lido, declared:
“By unilaterally implementing a bridge and marketing it in a seemingly official way, it seems like you are trying to pressure the DAO to accept your proposal to avoid liquidity fragmentation and a bad UX for users. Attracting users through marketing makes it more difficult to accept an offer. These actions put the DAO, Lido investors and participating chains in a difficult position.”
Meanwhile, some have expressed dissatisfaction with the inclusion of Scroll on networks that help wstETH. In response, LayerZero eliminated Scroll from the token’s help networks. Furthermore, cross-chain also highlighted that it has engaged in energetic discussions with the Lido Core developer staff, neighborhood members, and independent protection teams concerning the implementation of the bridge.
