Hyperliquid announced that HYPE Token Holders will be eligible to receive an airdrop of ANIME, the token that governs the open Anime universe.
The announcement was made early Monday via a post on X (formerly Twitter), where Hyperliquid revealed their partnership with ANIME. The Anime Project is sponsored by Azuki, a decentralized anime community.
Hyperliquid Announces Collaboration With Anime
Hyperliquid has attracted significant attention with their recent announcement, positioning HYPE Holders to receive the ANIME Token airdrop. ANIME official account detailed description project’s vision, emphasizing its mission to transform the anime ecosystem into a community-owned creative economy.
“HYPE Holders will receive an ANIME airdrop as part of TGE [Anime’s]”, post by Hyperliquid said.
Azuki, a leading Web3 anime community, plays a key role in this initiative. As a pioneer in decentralized branding, Azuki has positioned herself as a leading voice in the anime and blockchain space. The partnership with Hyperliquid is considered a strategic step to promote symbiosis between two new ecosystems.
“This combination of culture and DeFi could arouse significant interest,” said one user on X humorous.
The open anime universe, as envisioned by Azuki and its early contributors, is attempting to empower fans to actively participate in the anime ecosystem. This community-based model fits with the growing trend of decentralization in entertainment and content creation.
“For decades, anime has shaped global culture – from art to fashion to game music. However, these fans are still passive consumers. Up to now, they have had the opportunity to actively participate,” Anime account speak.
ANIME token, launched on Ethereum and Arbitrum, aims to distribute 50.5% of its supply to the community. In addition to HYPE Holders from Hyperliquid, other airdrop recipients include Kaito members, Arbitrum users, and anime fans.
“We are excited to welcome the Hyperliquid community (HYPE Holders), Kaito community, Arbitrum community and anime community to the open anime universe,” Anime additional.
Data from TinTucBitcoin shows that Hyperliquid’s HYPE Token increased by more than 3% following this news. At the time of writing, HYPE was trading at $21.26.
Meanwhile, the Hyperliquid platform’s attribution strategy has fueled user engagement and trust. The Token’s community-focused distribution model set a new standard in DeFi in October 1. This model could continue to conquer a fanbase that is often left out of the creative process.
However, the HYPE Token’s path has not been entirely smooth. Specifically, these developments come just a week after Hyperliquid’s TVL (total value locked) hit its lowest point of the year. This decline has raised concerns about the sustainability of the platform.
Furthermore, Hyperliquid has faced controversies, including addressing concerns about the security of validators. There is also speculation about hacking threats linked to the infamous Lazarus group.
Reports and warnings from the community have added to the challenges the platform must overcome to maintain its reputation. Despite these difficulties, the ANIME airdrop provides an opportunity for Hyperliquid to re-engage with its community. Participating in a project connecting anime and blockchain, Hyperliquid could attract a broader audience, especially anime fans who want to explore Web3.
