US Republican National Congress Committee Accepts Cryptocurrency Donations

Price Analysis 07/04: Will Bitcoin Mark 5th consecutive year of growth on Independence Day?

The US National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) is allegedly going to start accepting crypto contributions through important crypto payment service provider BitPay.

According to Axios, NRCC recently partnered with cryptocurrency payment processor BitPay to establish a system to convert crypto contributions into USD.

Accordingly, NRCC won’t directly hold cryptocurrencies. Closings will be converted to USD by BitPay and then deposited into NRCC’s account.

The NRCC becomes the first national commission to take cryptocurrency donations. Previously, US presidential candidate in 2020, Andrew Yang also campaigned for contributions in cryptocurrency.

NRCC President Tom Emmer is a fairly crypto-friendly guy. He once said that innovative technologies such as cryptocurrencies and Blockchain supply Republicans together with the tools to be successful.

Emmer can also be Co-Chair of the Congressional Blockchain Caucus and a part of the House Financial Services Committee.

At the start of June, he requested the IRS to relax its regulations crypto contributions to charities.
