US Hash Force: Softwar Proposes BTC for National Security

In response, one user suggested Major Jason Lowery, author of Softwar: A New Theory of Shining the Power and National Strategic Importance of Bitcoin, is a potential advisor to the president.

Lowery confirmed that he had applied for a position in the White House. The Department of Systems and Management of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has publication his articles before they were released as paperbacks. His thesis proposes a new approach to analyzing Bitcoin — not only as a payment system but also as a potential electronic security tool.
Expanding the research community’s view of Bitcoin’s Proof of Work (PoW) technology, his hypothesis introduces a new theoretical framework called Power Projection Theory. It proposes that Bitcoin’s PoW could act as what he calls a form of cyber power projection.
This means it can help countries protect critical information such as financial data and prevent cyber attacks by imposing heavy physical costs on attackers. The author calls this approach “softwar” and explores how it can influence national security strategy in the digital age.
Lowery proposed that the United States could strengthen its cybersecurity and maintain its digital strategic advantage by building a powerful hash industry, which he named the “US Hash Force.”
His proposal attracted interest from both military and political leaders. On November 7, Lowery sent an open letter to the US Defense Innovation Council, calling on the Pentagon to explore the strategic potential of Bitcoin.
“I can confirm that I have applied to serve as a military advisor to the National Security Council (NSC) and/or the White House Office of Science & Technology Policy (OSTP). My goal is to advise the Department of Defense on the national strategic importance of Proof of Work (PoW) technology and to provide senior leaders with policy recommendations related to a stockpile Strategic Bitcoin Reserves and the U.S. Hash Force,” Lowery stated.
Lowery is a U.S. Space Force officer with a decade-long military career path. During that time, he served as a technical advisor to senior officials on issues related to defense systems.
