Following the very strong wave of cryptocurrency movement in Latin America. Recently, a telecommunications company in the region accepted cryptocurrency payments with BitPay support.
GoldConnect, a Latin American telecommunications company, announced on June 15 that it will allow customers to pay with cryptocurrency through its BitPay payment processor, marking another milestone in the expanding Bitcoin (BTC) adoption by the region.
GoldConnect will be able to process cryptocurrency transactions made in Bitcoin, Ethereum and other crypto assets through the company’s new LatamConnect platform. Payments can be made directly through LatamConnect, a platform that connects directly to BitPay. Cryptocurrency payments made through BitPay are paid in local fiat currency.
GoldConnect says the adoption of cryptocurrency payments reflects the growing demand for such services across 17 Latin American and Caribbean countries.
Latin America is becoming a hotbed for crypto activities. Recently, Bitcoin became legal tender in El Salvador, setting the stage for mass adoption in the region. Political representatives from several countries such as Paraguay and Panama head towards Bitcoin adoption following the pioneering flag of El Salvador.
